Our history

It all begins with two Berlin boys looking for a challenge. One of them, Amadeus, has spent his summers since childhood in the small town of Kalamata in the Peloponnese. There, under the hot Greek sun, one winter they help Grandma Anthoula with the olive harvest.
They get a taste for it – literally. Back in Berlin, they bring the oil back in canisters, unfiltered, strong, and honest. No labels, no brand, just quality. Word gets around – the oil sells out immediately.
The rest is history. Or rather, a legend.

We work with small, family-run businesses in Greece who, like us, believe in the value of real food. Our products – olive oil, olives, spices, spreads, and more – are certified organic, hand-picked, and full of character. Every jar, every bottle tells a story from the Mediterranean.

Today, Clara and Simone run OEL with heart, mind, and a great sense of humor. Clara is a mother, a doer, and a creative mind. Simone, originally a theologian, is now a painter, tattoo artist, and our aesthete—responsible for many designs, images, and the soul of the brand.

Because we are convinced: Good food begins with transparency, appreciation and the courage to think differently.
We believe in a food world that is small, honest and direct – without detours, without compromises.
