Elias
The Don of Andania, our favorite Greek (after Amadeus). Without him, OEL would be unimaginable.
Our history
It all starts with two Berlin boys looking for a challenge. One of them, Amadeus, has family in the small town of Kalamata in the Greek Peloponnese. One winter the two of them help Grandma Anthoula with the olive harvest.
You get a taste for it. Bring the delicious oil to Berlin. Get rid of everything in one fell swoop and the story is decided.
When the Roman Simone joins them shortly afterwards with knowledge of theology, poetry, art and tattooing, things get started.
Before you know it, a company has been founded, land has been bought, a trademark has been registered, licenses have been acquired and the first taxes have been paid.
OEL is born.
The next step: Clara gets on board - a cool, calculating head, humor and an extra dose of expertise.
The range is growing. The brand family is growing: OEL, A! and ZOE.
The brands will have a common umbrella under the name Thalassa.
The grandmother who made everything possible, with her own olives and contacts to other olives, a shallow idea could become reality in no time. Always busy keeping the clan together and providing for everyone royally, she still had the leisure to show the youngsters how to harvest.
The choice of her portrait as the emblem and thus the core of the OEL brand is a sign of thanks, homage and a return to eternal values.
We are a small, familiar team that is passionate about what we do.

Fairness and sustainability are the cornerstones of our entrepreneurial thinking and actions. And we mean this in a comprehensive sense: from our corporate structures to the farmers and producers we work with and the land they work.
When growing, harvesting and processing our products, we try to protect our environment, which includes people, animals and plants.
In concrete terms, this means, for example, no industrial agriculture or harvesting, fair wages and salaries.
Where we do not grow and produce ourselves, we know the farmers, producers and production facilities personally and maintain close contact with them.
We want our products to benefit everyone, not just consumers (or ourselves). That's why it's particularly important to us to keep an eye on the entire production and supply chain and to provide transparent information about it.
We have a close, sometimes familial, connection to the regions of origin of our products and we would like to give something back to the region.
We also follow the approach of not wasting unnecessary resources and keeping the impact on the environment as small as possible in our online shop . For example, we guarantee completely plastic-free shipping. At the moment we still use plastic for the spouts of our canisters and unfortunately in the form of foil for long-distance transport of pallet shipments.
