By the way, we are also looking forward to your recipes and tips!

Olive oil is a true all-rounder. In Greece, it's used not only in cooking but also in skin and hair care. It can be used pure or processed into creams and soaps. Particularly well-known are olive oil soap and, widely used in Greece, a traditional ointment made from olive oil and beeswax called keralifie.

Olive oil in cosmetics:

Olive oil is extremely popular in cosmetics due to its moisturizing properties, anti-wrinkle effects, and skin regenerating ability. It is suitable for all skin types and offers gentle care, especially for sensitive skin.

Thanks to its high vitamin E content, olive oil makes the skin more elastic, smoother, and more resilient. It supports cell renewal and thus prevents skin aging.

Quality of olive oil:

When choosing olive oil, it's important to pay attention to the highest quality. It's best to choose organic and cold-pressed olive oil to preserve all its valuable nutrients.

Hair care with olive oil:

Olive oil is a true miracle cure for brittle, fragile hair. A regular hair mask with olive oil reduces split ends and makes hair noticeably smoother.

Ingredients of olive oil

Olive oil consists of approximately 85% unsaturated and 15% saturated fatty acids. The monounsaturated fatty acids in particular make the oil a vitality booster in beauty and skin care.
  • Linoleic acid : After oleic acid, linoleic acid is the second most abundant fatty acid in olive oil. It is an essential component of the outermost layer of human skin and can, among other things, reduce age spots.
  • Vitamin E : Vitamin E regenerates skin cells, promotes their renewal and ensures a smoother, rejuvenated complexion.
  • Natural flavorings : The flavorings in olive oil are effective against bacteria and fungi.
  • Chlorophyll : The plant substance chlorophyll also has a cell-renewing effect. It also has antibacterial and detoxifying effects.
