Greek mountain tea comes in a variety of varieties. This variety, Sideritis clandestina, is endemic to the Peloponnese and is organically cultivated in the Taygetos Mountains at an altitude of 1,600 meters in a Natura 2000 protected area. (Fortunately, wild collection of mountain tea is now very strictly regulated.)
